The Meta Security team is responsible for preventing and detecting unauthorized access to Meta’s data and systems.
Our work spans Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, and all of the underlying systems and infrastructure that power these products behind the scenes.
Due to the scale and complexity of our environment, we develop our own bespoke security tools and systems, of which many are comparable with leading commercial security products, and others solve problems unique to Meta.
We are seeking software engineers with a passion for and/or experience in security, to help build systems.
Our software engineers build solutions ranging from the EDR agents which monitor millions of production hosts, through to application frameworks which allow Meta to develop secure-by-default products.

Software Engineer, Security Responsibilities: Conceive, design & develop industry-leading security products, systems and/or frameworks Code using C/C++, Rust, Python, JavaScript, and/or Hack Interface with other teams to help integrate security solutions throughout Meta’s products and infrastructure Conduct design and code reviews Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of security systems and frameworks Establish yourself as an owner of a particular security system with expert end-to-end understanding Successfully complete projects at large scope while maintaining a consistent high level of productivity Minimum Qualifications: 6+ years of programming experience in either C, C++, Java, C# or other relevant coding languages 6+ years relevant experience building large-scale infrastructure applications or similar experience Experience designing, analyzing and improving efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources Experience owning a particular component, feature or system Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Background in security-focused software engineering and building internal and/or customer-facing security products Broad knowledge of the security domain, which might include security investigations, incident management, digital forensics, offensive security, vulnerability management, product security, and much more About Meta: Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
