*About Lega*
For LLMs to break into the enterprise, they need to play by the rules.
That means governance.
That means compliance.
That means CISOs sleeping soundly at night knowing employees aren’t dumping crown-jewel IP onto the Internet… (here’s to you, Samsung!) Lega (https://lega.
ai) is a pioneering governance platform designed to help enterprises test, assess, and safely implement generative-AI solutions by providing them with the tools and guardrails they need to flexibly navigate the rapidly changing generative-AI landscape.
The company was founded in March of this year, and we formally launched our platform at the beginning of the summer.
We are already serving a handful of significant global enterprises (with a strong sales pipeline to follow) and are playing a key role at the center of their respective generative-AI strategies.
We’re eager to now make our first full-time hire into our internal engineering team.
*The Role* We are seeking a founding engineer with strong full-stack credentials to help us build the next generation of our platform and create a truly pathbreaking experience for enterprises looking to safely experiment with large language models.
Total compensation for the role will range between $120,000-$150,000 in salary, plus a customary benefits package and a meaningful equity stake in the business (1-2%).
*Who We Are Looking For* We’re looking for a gifted and creative full-stack engineer who is deeply interested in building and shaping early-stage products.
Because this is our first full-time engineering hire, we’re seeking someone who not only has a strong foundational skill base, but who is also genuinely energized by the prospect of working on many different parts of a rapidly growing platform in close collaboration with the company’s product leadership to take a leading role in charting the path of our roadmap.
*Requirements* *Technical Abilities.
* While we are eager to find a founding engineer who can lead and grow an engineering team, it’s essential that our founding engineer is excited to roll up their sleeves and work directly on any part of our platform.
* We're looking for an engineer with significant experience (5+ years) working with ReactJS, REST APIs, NodeJS, and Python.
* We are also committed to finding a founding engineer with meaningful knowledge of data architecture and database design.
*Enterprise-Software Background.
* Given that we provide an enterprise-governance platform and serve enterprises (such as top law firms) working in regulated industries with exacting data-security and application-performance requirements, it’s critical that our founding engineer possess a strong understanding of: * cloud and network security; * enterprise architecture; and * application performance and scaling.
*Azure Proficiency.
* Given our customer base, we spend lots of time in Azure environments, so material experience working with Azure and the related MS toolkit will be critical to our founding engineer's success.
*Soft Skills.
* * _Commitment to Culture.
_ At Lega, we’re deeply committed to building a highly collaborative and supportive team culture where we all contribute openly to enhancing velocity and performance.
Because the founding engineer will set the cultural tone in our engineering team, and it’s essential that they share our passion about the value of open collaboration and high-performance culture.
* _Creativity & Self-Reliance.
_ Additionally, because we’re building something genuinely new and pathbreaking, it’s also exceptionally important that our founding engineer be creative (to help us chart a course into the unknown) and be highly self-reliant.
* _Managerial Acumen.
_ Finally, given that we're already serving a handful of enterprise customers successfully, we expect to grow our engineering team (both internally and externally) in the coming quarters.
Therefore, we’ll need a founding engineer who possess strong managerial skills and can help inspire and motivate technical teams.
*Preferred Qualifications* *LLM Fluency.
* While not strictly necessary, any experience working professionally in MLOps and with pytorch, transformer architecture, and other parts of the LLM stack are a significant plus.
*NYC-Based.
* We hope to find a founding engineer who is based in the NYC area (though we will consider exceptionally strong remote candidates).
While the team is fully remote today, we expect to open an office in 2024, and we'd love to spend at least 2-3 days a week together in the office when we do.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $120,000.
00 - $150,000.
00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * Dental insurance * Flexible spending account * Health insurance * Health savings account * Unlimited paid time off * Work from home Compensation package: * Bonus opportunities * Stock options * Yearly pay Experience level: * 5 years Schedule: * 8 hour shift Application Question(s): * Why are you interested in joining Lega as our Founding Engineer? (Please be specific about your interest in our company and this role, and why you believe you would be a great fit!) Experience: * Full-stack development: 5 years (Preferred) * Enterprise software: 2 years (Preferred) * Azure: 1 year (Preferred) Work Location: Hybrid remote in Brooklyn, NY 11217
